A quiet day... We attended a bilingual church service on Shamian Island. It was a gift to sing under the cross, Mandarin and English together. Though Milo didn't last long, I was thankful for dear Catherine from Holt who attended with us and helped explain things to him. Never have I been more thankful for the stories told in stained glass windows. She is a treasure. Her 15 year old son joined us as well, and Monte enjoyed visiting with him. I think it was quite the culture shock for Monte to realize this peer went to school from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and I am grateful that Monte was able to peek into his world during a lunch shared.

We later wandered through a few shops, where we spent the best 10 RMBG yet...on bubbles for Milo. He loved them, and it was such fun to watch him stop whenever we crossed paths with children. He immediately pulled out the bubble wand and created iridescent joy. The last bubbles were enjoyed at our hotel's playground/park where we gathered with other adoptive families for some late afternoon games.

Our mission tomorrow? Find more bubbles...

Loved hearing about the joy of bubbles this morning! Made me think of Nemo and the little fish tank creature that guarded the treasure box of bubbles..."Bubbles!!" Such a sweet boy wanting to share his joy with everyone around him! Counting down on the fingers of just one hand now :) Love to you all!
