With much to be thankful for, we watch autumn's light stretch cold, thin, into winter's shadows. The days are short and full, the nights long, cold. There is always wood to be brought in and a soup pot to fill, basketball practice and a stack of schoolwork to look through... But when the light is gold, and Malcolm asks for the camera, we -- all seven -- pull on wool hats and walk long, hand-in-hand.
