To God be the glory...

...great things He has done! When this challenge began, we weren't certain exactly what organization we would partner with to build Monte's well. Heavens, this mama certainly didn't think we would actually have enough (an estimated $2,600) for a well. I was the one encouraging him toward a manageable goal...how about $50 for water purification tablets in the World Vision catalog? "No, Mom," Monte insisted, "We need something that lasts!" And water lasts, doesn't it? The Living Water is the only thing that lasts. And so, he dreamed, and I challenged you, and you dreamed too.

And then, it seemed like maybe, just maybe, we might have enough for something...and we started researching ministries that would build in Jesus' name and for His glory and make it last. When we decided to work with World Vision, the one disappointment was that although they had several water projects in Africa, they did not have any in the works in Ethiopia. Had we made the right choice? And then, the phone rang within days of our contact with World Vision, and, yes, they did have a water project in Tongo, Ethiopia that still needed funds to be completed. Would we be interested in partnering with them? Boreholes had been drilled, latrines had been built, water technicians trained, pipeline laid, waterborne disease-education provided...but they still needed money for wells.

Why am I still suprised when God reaches into my living room with a love note?

And so, tomorrow's mail will hold a carefully penciled letter from my son to Mr. Stearns of World Vision.

And, friends, because of your love notes, that envelope will include $3,653.99.

Tears of joy!!!!!!!! What an amazing journey. I have a feeling that this is just the begining of Monte's journey. I feel so priviledged to be able to be apart of it.

Love and prayers,
April

Praise be to God! This brings tears of joy to my eyes! It is amazing what God can do in the lives of others by a dream and determination of one little boy. How incredible and encouraging! Everyone of us also can make a difference too :)

Tears here too--and thankfulness for your way of "making" me read a book that I didn't think I had time to read in the midst of midterms and finals--yet once I started to read it I couldn't put it down and felt my life change. THAT is another thing that will LAST!
Jesus is smiling--thank you Monte for your belief--may we all learn from the persistence and innocence of a child.
Blessings and Praises,

Ann

Proud of you for realizing a well is more important than Lego Star Wars. We all should learn from you.
