Our sweet boy has been home for four weeks.
Five weeks ago we met a little boy who was struggling to hold up his head and wary of our cuddles. Today, Moses is sleeping through the night, grinning with his first tooth, rolling (rolling!), sitting unassisted and smiling with this whole body... He is a joy. An absolute joy.
These weeks have flown. Our family has been sharing everything, including pink-eye and chickenpox and colds. Despite doctor's appointments, quaratines and rainy days, we have played at the beach, trekked 300 miles across the mountains (thankful for air-conditioning and Keith Green tunes) and enjoyed every moment of this little boy learning to love us. And oh -- how we love him! Brothers and sister delight in his ready laugh and enjoy wielding the favored spoon of rice cereal. (We now know what the nannies in Addis meant when they said, "He takes precedence at meal times.") Moses only cries when hungry or tired, and when he is hungry...he cries at decibals previously unknown in our household! With a full tummy (and that tummy is worth noting for its wonderful, chocolate roundness) our Moses is more likely to grin and sing and chuckle than do anything else.
We are thanking God this day for these milestones and this sweet gift that we call Moses...
