We have a one year old in the house now, and she is busy trying to walk! Within the past few days she has made it several steps, and soon her ability will be catching up with her determination! MyLinh is now on antibiotics for this crud, and she is feeling perkier and more confident. She would rather be exploring than packed around, and we are thrilled at her delight in the boys and her comfort in her surroundings. It has been incredible to watch this beautiful girl blossom.
My mom left today after helping us hold down the fort. Alex had been laid out with his sick, and I was running on empty. She has cooked, cleaned, cared for MyLinh in the night, read to the boys, run us to the doctor and has been such a source of strength for us. I now have three nights of good sleep and a happy household. How rich I am to call her mom.
As sunshine streams through my windows, and my daughter sings in her bed, this hymn comes to mind:
This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world, should my heart be ever sad?
The lord is King—let the heavens ring.
God reigns—let the earth be glad.
This is my Father’s world.
Now closer to Heaven bound,
For dear to God is the earth Christ trod.
No place but is holy ground.
