4:00 a.m.

It is the wee hours of the morning, and once again I am wide awake. Thankfully, MyLinh has been sleeping hard, crying out only a couple of times. Our quiet minutes of play last night showed us that she knew how to stack blocks, play peek-a-boo, and mimic faces! Alex is such a good daddy, and he really was able to draw her out. I still don't know what it was that finally clicked for her, as her crying was unabated until then!

The orphanage staff were amazing...truly loving the children. It was incredible to see this tiny little place with such amazing women and beautiful children. At the Giving and Receiving Ceremony, the Director (government official) said, "Please come back again and bring another baby home!" I am surprised by this sort of reception. We even had people stop us on the street (we spent a lot of time walking through the tears) saying, "Vietnam baby?" and smile.

I am going to try to close my eyes for a few more minutes before we have to ready for the day.

Hey! Just couln't not check even though it was about 0430 your time. (I actually logged off about 5 minutes before your post this a.m.) So glad to hear that she is sleeping. Hope you are rested as you read this. J

I too, as Jordan, tend to find myself checking on you often. Wanting to give you all a big squeeze from Rosburg. Now that you are used to rising at 4am I think I know of a good job for you!
love you

Ditto on checking the blog! Emily's comment was, "Ohhh..she's so cute!!" and this from the child who does not fully appreciate children smaller than her, so, that truly means MyLinh is a cutie! Thanks for faithfully posting your actions...obviously you have a lot of fans following your journey! ;o)

Love to all of you!

I know it must be hard, she just doesn't know how fortunate she is to have you yet. We can hardly wait to love on her. We are still praying. God is good.
I love you,

Been checking all day. Made myself stay away for a few hrs. Talked to mom, boys are good-except Colleen is teaching them some sort of violent entertainment. YOu'll just have to untrain them when you get home. Since you get up so early now you should have plenty of time. That is if your not at the Burkhalter Barn:) Give our little MyLinh a hug from us. The boys were just shooting cartoon rabbits with a plunger. Way different than Uncle Jordon teaching them to shoot real bunnies. Really, they were so cute today.(the boys, not the bunnies) MyLinh is getting herself two sweet brothers. Can't wait to hold her!
praying for solid sleep for you all.

LOVE you!,
Colleen and family
